Mikey is one of the great ones.  He is gentle, affectionate, and would make an excellent family cat.  

 

Mikey was surrendered by a Salt Spring resident who had found and cared for him since he was a stray older kitten.  Mikey initially slept on a chair on her porch, but over the months that he lived on the property, the caretaker earned his trust.  In a matter of months, Mikey went from a scared stray to a total lap cat.  As Mikey’s caretaker was not in a position to take him in, she reached out to us for help.  

 

Mikey has now been neutered, vaccinated (FVRCP and rabies), treated for fleas and parasites, microchipped, and tested for FIV / FeLV.  An ideal home for Mikey would be with a family who had lots of love and attention for Mikey.  He is very settled as an indoor only cat in his foster home and does great with other cats.  Mikey has had limited exposure to some well-behaved dogs in his foster home.
