OSCAR

Laptime for Oscar

Hanging Around

Getting Stronger!
Gentle Oscar came into our care in January of 2025. A Salt Spring resident had heard him crying out, and then found him going through the garbage in her garage (hence the name OSCAR!). After checking with her neighbours, it was determined that Oscar had been left behind when his owners moved away. When he was trapped and brought into our care, Oscar was extremely thin, dehydrated, and had a large infected abscess on his back. And he was SO HUNGRY.
We promptly had the abscess removed and worked to get Oscar healthy again. We estimate that Oscar is appropriately 6 ot 7 years old.
Oscar is a quiet cat who enjoys pets on the head and scratches under his chin. He also like sitting on laps. Oscar is not demanding at all, except perhaps at feeding time (Oscar likes to be fed his dinner at 5 p.m. FIRM, not 5:05 p.m. and certainly not 5:30 p.m. He will definitely let you know if you are late with feeding!).
A PURRfect home for Oscar would be with perhaps a quiet single individual or adult couple. Oscar is not a big fan of noise. Although Oscar is currently fostered with other cats, he does not seek them out for interaction. Oscar really does like things to be quiet, and we think that he would enjoy being an only pet and getting ALL of the attention for himself.
Oscar has been neutered, vaccinated (FVRCP and Rabies), tested for FIV / FeLV (negative), treated for fleas and parasites, and microchipped. If you have room in your heart and your home for a new feline friend, please consider meeting our Oscar. You will certainly fall in love.
