Look at our adorable Amelia! This playful and adventurous girl is STILL looking for her FURever home. We can’t believe it!!

Amelia came into our care in the late summer of 2024 as part of our colony management work at the north end of Salt Spring Island. Initially reserved and frightened, she has blossomed into a very confident and playful kitty!

Amelia would make a lovely companion for someone who is looking for an independent cat who loves to be with you but is not a needy lap cat. Amelia does enjoy being held though, and relaxes into the arms of the person holding her.

Amelia has settled into her foster home over the past few months, so any adopter will need to be patient as she adjusts to a new environment. But this patience will pay off! This girl has come so far – from a malnourished older kitten to a healthy, gorgeous, spunky, amazing young adult cat. This girl has PURRsonality!

Amelia is spayed, vaccinated (FVRCP plus rabies), treated for fleas and parasites, microchipped, and screened for FIV / FeLV (negative results).

Amelia would do well in a home where there were other animals to play with – perhaps another kitty or a respectful dog. She loves being around people but is not a”lap cat. She’s an independent girl who just loves to have fun!
